You Know What I hate?
I hate the newspaper email bunch of “know it all’s” who write derogatory emails in response to things they know nothing about. There is a German term “schadenfreude” that refers to when people exult over someone else’s problems and difficulties. I don’t speak German … but I think it describes these email bullies rather well. It is what keeps The National Enquirer and those other tabloids in business.
I’m talking about articles about someone’s child being backed over in their driveway, or someone’s child who wandered out of camp and got lost in the mountains. The parents do not need to be told over and over they should have known where their child was and that the accident could have been avoided. I would think they probably do a pretty good job of blaming themselves. There is nothing constructive or helpful about it. Those kinds of comments serve one purpose and that is to feed the writer’s ego. They must have nothing positive going for them if that is how they find their fun. You’ll notice it’s the same bunch of people all the time … like a little email mafia club.
The cowards who write these emails are cruel and get their jollies by anonymously spouting off as if they were expert on every situation that comes up. I know there is freedom of speech … but it is a terrible shame that they use it to willfully try to put additional pain and guilt on people who are already obviously suffering great remorse and pain. If there is blame to be placed in these events, let it come from the authorities not the Rush Limbaugh wannabe’s.
Whoa … that felt good.
