Who Is That Woman?

This picture was taken at my nephew’s funeral in February .The dark circles, the tired look in the eyes, the crows feet and face wrinkles, sagging neck all belong to me now.   It isn’t a particularly flattering picture, but unfortunately, this is as good as it gets anymore.  Luckily the wrinkle cream helped that day … at least this picture doesn’t show too much below that sagging jaw line.   That is really pathetic and could use a good tune up.

I feel older.  It sneaks up on you slowly, joint by joint, wrinkle by wrinkle ,,, but suddenly one day you feel full blown senior citizen.    The good thing about it is that you have grandchildren who think you are beautiful for an old lady.

All I can say is I better do what I can while I can before I can’t!

  1. You never write “old” though!

  2. I think that this is a wonderful picture and that you are aging beautifully! I can see a bit of tiredness in the picture-but the lines look like smile lines to me!

  3. Still my beautiful friend.

    Check out my blog. phancey@blogspot.com

I called Friday night to see if you and Lynn wanted to go to Red Lobster. Couldn’t get ahold of you. We’ll try again.

    Miss you.

  4. You have always been and still are beautiful. :) I hope I age even half as well as you have.

  5. This photo says to me that this is a woman who has lived a good life and has survived.
Don’t beat yourself up on one photo taken at a time that was very sorrowful.
I imagine you have many other photos of yourself taken at more joyous times..
Come over to my blog and celebrate with me the joys of being an elder.

  6. You look good to me sis. Thank you for all you did at B’s funeral. I would like to get a copy of your talk.

I wish I could visit you more often. Time is going by to fast. Sometimes I fear I am on borrowed time.

It will be fun to see everyone at the reunion.
