Whellll there, Shiver Me Timbers!
Just a few quick pictures of our day. The kids were thrown into the “brig” and had to beg Grandma to pay their ransom! It then took a bit of fancy talking to get them to sidle up to the next pirate for a picture! Lincoln was totally caught off guard when his agreement to stand next to this ghostly pirate ended up in him being grabbed and held upside down! Fortunately, you can see him laughing.
The pirates were in their glory today in Westport as they began to gather on the docks for the annual pirate festival.
A lot of expense and time has been invested in their costumes and commitment to entertainment and fun for the rest of us. They have built realistic looking boats and ships on top of vehicles and parked them along the streets, and they swagger and sing their way through the 60 or so shops up and down the “galley”. These pictures were taken as it was just getting started. The streets later filled with bands of pirates and their ships and belly dancers. It was just plain fun to rub shoulders with all them thar scallywags, wenches, and pirates. Thank you pirates, and Westport City citizens! I hope word gets out and it just gets bigger and bigger!
Oh, corn dogs, elephant ear’s, and kettle korn were my treats of the day … YUMMEE! Kim slipped into a candy shop … a double YUMMEE!

Oh that looks and sounds like a fun fun time! I bet the kids did have a glorious time. The pictures are cute!
That looks like a great day at Westport! I wish I could have been there. I know Kim has been waiting for this day given how much the kids enjoy pirates. I’ll bet Lincoln was in heaven! Keep posting.
How fun. Great memories. I love the picture of them all locked up.
