Wednesdays This & That

Babies are so uninhibited.    I am sitting here typing while little Ande is beside me eating cheerios and filling her diaper … taking it in and putting it out simultaneously, without a care in the world.   If I catch her eye she gives me a big, happy smile to let me know she thinks I am at the top of her list … along with graham crackers and pudding.    She flirts with me, endearing me with all of her cute tricks and dimples and knows she has me wrapped around her pudgy little fingers.   She cracks me up every time my cell phone plays a tune and she starts dancing.

I’m packing up the camp trailer today.   We’re going to Zion’s National Park for the next six days with my brother, Bill and his wife, Vivian.   We’re all going to celebrate their 49th and our 42nd anniversaries plus Lynn’s, Bill’s, and Viv’s birthdays that fall in October.  I love Fall at Zion’s.   The canyon itself is a canvas of beautiful colors in its majestic rock formations and mountains, but add the fall colors of the foliage to the mix and it is spectacular.

So … I won’t be blogging for the next week because even though this campground has hookups for water and electricity it doesn’t even know the word Internet.     I will have the trusty laptop with me so I can edit my novel and possibly write a blog or two that I will post when we return.   I’m rather addicted to Messenger and E-mail and going off both cold turkey like this could lead to some strange alternative behaviors.  Anything could happen with four senior citizens in the great outdoors for an entire week.

I’m hoping UPS stops by my door this afternoon.  It reminds me of the Music Man and The Wells Fargo Wagon song). I discovered my favorite jeans (Lee Comfort Waist) and ordered some online that I want to take camping.   This site has them on sale plus if you sign up for their emails, which I did, you get an additional 20% off.   If you go one even better and order more than $100 worth of merchandise you get free shipping.    So … don’t tell my man, but I ordered him some jeans for his birthday.

  1. Thanks for the comfort waist tip. My weight has shifted around the past year–thighs and legs as usual, but all the weight is across the abdomen and makes my size 10 hard to fasten, but the 12 is inches too big. Plus I have a fat(ty)liver; the doctor confirmed it last week!
