This ‘n That
1. The Inauguration … watching it on television and the people of all colors and backgrounds there together getting along and celebrating stirred a lot of emotions, but I have decided to keep them to myself for now.
2. Technology … I’ve been preparing for a talk I’ve been asked to give this weekend at a women’s conference. I have re-fallen in love with the Internet and the ability to learn and read so many things from the comfort of my own Lazy-boy. It makes me remember research and term papers from school and the hours and hours spent in the library and typing and retyping. There was no cut and paste, no quick correcting, not half the materials there that I have here at home. Wow! I am still in awe.
3. Lynn’s retirement … It’s only 5 weeks away, but whose counting? WE ARE! The time is going by fast for both of us. We hope we can enjoy some fun traveling together for a while … have some wonderful adventures. Thank goodness we are best friends.
4. Junk … Still trying to part with “stuff” I don’t need. It’s a lot harder to part with it sometimes than others. Somehow it still seems like what we have left must be breeding and replenishing the earth. I’m going to have to start leaving the lights on all night.
5. Dieting … Not that I want to think about it, but since I have been overweight since 1980 it is generally hanging around somewhere in my mind. I don’t know why I find it so difficult to cut out sugar and white flour and eat sensibly … and exercise.
6. Okay, so maybe I should cut out white flour and sugar and go for a walk every day … maybe if I did that it would be enough to kick out the word (diet). I hate that word almost as much as I hate the word exercise but I do love to walk. Exercise triggers a lot of pain in me that doesn’t get better with time. So I’m NOT going on a diet or exercising, savy? But feel free to encourage me to eat sensibly and go for walks.
7. However, that said, does anyone know how I can lose 50 pounds by Saturday?
