There I Go Again …
If you are a busy person with no time for nonsense … this may not be for you.
I have been contemplating how nice it would be to be cloned so you could be in two places at once. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could send one of you off to work and the other one off to play … one of you on vacation and one of you stay at home to keep things going at home … one of you to bed and the other one cleaning the house? But you were really only one person so you got to reap the benefits of both of you?
I suppose there could be some problems … particularly if the grandchildren figured it out and liked one of you more than the other. Or if both of you ended up always wanting to do the same thing … which could very well happen if you were sharing one mind … then you just as well be one person and perhaps save on expenses. Maybe each person could get by on a half a mind like a lot of people do. Haven’t you ever heard people say, “I’ve a half a mind to stay home from work tomorrow.” If you were cloned you could do that and still go to work tomorrow.
One positive is that perhaps you could arrange to divide your current weight equally between the two clones. That would be nice as long as both of the clones didn’t get really overweight and then comes the day you have to go back to one person again. That would be a big bummer.
If you could be cloned like that it would bring new meaning to these statements … maybe you can add a few of your own … :
1. Here I go again …
2. I don’t know if I’m coming or going …
3. I was beside myself …
4. Between you and me …
5. Neither here nor there …
6. My place or yours …
7. Alter ego
I guess the first thing I’d have to do is decide who is the head honcho … the one who makes the assignments. Therein lies the end of a good thing because both of me would want that job. The second big hurdle would be that both of me would have a bad memory and both of me would probably forget which was which … so what’s the point of making assignments anyway? So much for cloning …
There I go again …
