The Scariest Movie Ever …

Jack Nicholson That daggone Lynn has gone to bed and left me up by myself watching The Shining. It’s the been edited for television.  For some reason I rate this move it as the scariest movie I’ve ever seen.  Jack Nicholson scares the tar out of me with his wild eyes and messed up hair and that crazy look that comes over his face.   If I ever ran into him in person I’d probably pass out in a dead faint.

The first time I watched this movie was during the afternoon when the babies were napping.   Lynn had rented a VCR and The Shining and watched it the night before while I took the kids out trick or treating.   He thought it was one I would want to see even though it was rated R, since I actually enjoy psychological thrillers and a certain level of terror.  I got so engrossed in watching it sitting all alone in my big, quiet house that when the phone rang beside me I screamed.    It happened to be Lynn and I started to bawl and  begged him to come home.  I was really that scared.

Of course, now that I’ve seen it three or four times it has lost some of its fright factor, but not that much!

Goodnight ….

  1. Eek. I hate scary movies. When I was a kid I watched a bunch of Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Now? I remember that the commercial trailer alone for Panic Room haunted me.

  2. That IS a scary movie! It has been so long since I saw it. I might have to talk Brett into watching it with me.
