The Perfect Day

Little grandson, Kai, loved walking Lady Fresca and holding onto his walking stick.   For the most part little poochie was fairly cooperative and the two of them were the “talk of the neighborhood”.    Kai did so much walking every day he was totally exhausted every night.

Lincoln couldn’t get enough of the sandy beaches.   He dug and rolled and got covered in sand.  There was some tall grass higher up that he liked to hide in.

It looks like Lynn’s just being lazy on the beach but he’s actually winding up 500 feet of string on the kite I was flying.    We loved watching all the kites and our three flew grandly with the rest.

Little Lady and I are flying a kite and enjoying the waves crashing onto the sand.   It was a perfect afternoon.    I didn’t think I was getting sunburned but the side facing the ocean (west) got a bit crispy by the end of the day.

The little  brothers liked the hole Lincoln dug and did a lot of laughing and silly boy things.  Kai kept us all busy taking turns tending him so he wouldn’t take off and run clear down the beach.  He was careful to stay away from the water but he sure wanted to wander.

Kim and he three oldest children watching the waves.   This is actually a dangerous beach for swimming because of the riptides.  There are “Danger” signs posted.    We didn’t mind not swimming because there were so many other things to do.

Luca is so grown up.   I don’t know how she managed to stay looking so clean!    She dug the biggest hole and helped Kim sculpt the Little Mermaid and Octopus below.

As you can see, this mermaid was very, VERY happy with her “bosoms”   She kept digging from the left side to add to their height and went from a C cup to a Triple EEE .

This is the final piece … the octopus has captured the mermaid.  Unfortunately you are unable to hear the sound effects that accompanied this scene.

These are our kites … They are actually fairly large kites but were also very high in the sky.   There are a lot of kites along the beach.  In a week there will be a kite festival and some of the kiters have been practicing … and some of them are AMAZING kites!

You can see why I would call this the perfect day.    I basked in it!   To think we will be here for the entire month just makes me tingle!    Hopefully Warren and his family will make it down here for a visit or two and Kim and Brett will be able to join us again.    I wish I could twinkle our entire family down here for a big family reunion.  We have met some very kind people here.  Right now we are surrounded by about 30 Winebego motor homes … They are so big and fancy ours doesn’t look nearly as big as we thought it was … but it is still plenty big enough for the two of us.  We’re from Utah.  I am reminded of the old joke, “How many Mormons can you fit into a Volkswagon?”    “How many Henke’s can you fit into one motor home?”     I guess we’ll see!
