Thankful for my bloggin’ buddies
I spend so much time reading my favorite blogs I scarcely have time to read the news anymore! It’s kind of been like a snowball going down the hill that picks up speed and snow with every turn. There are so many witty, fun people out there in cyber land. For someone like me, who loves people and diversity and staying home in comfortable Levi’s and a sweatshirt it is the perfect social life. I feel a connection with some of you like we’d actually sat down together and shared a bucket of burnt almond fudge ice cream and laughed the afternoon.
Sometimes as I read I can’t help but be astounded at the “aha” moments when I read something and wonder why it has never occurred to me before. Going Like Sixty does that to me all the time but apparently it happens now and then to him to, as he talks about what the concept of “in the ballpark” that he learned from a fellow blogger … Because he has put into a few words, what I have been struggling all my life to explain. I love that concept … no more having to measure up to the standard! The ballpark is enough! Awesome!
Catch Her In The Wry brings hope to curvy women everywhere in her blog Curvy women are smart, with links to studies that support the theory that the fat in your hips and thighs boosts brain power and produces smart children. My children owe me a lot of thanks for all the sacrifices I made for them over the years eating those nasty eclairs and bakery delights.
Wintersong is forever reminding me of childhood memories like her recent blog entitled “That Time of Year … Again?” Not only I, but my own kids and grandchildren remember the Sear’s and J.C. Penney Christmas catalogs.
I keep current on all kinds of important topics at Time Goes By and love to surf the bloggers on the Elderblogs list. Unfortunately I’m not on the list myself, but maybe some day I’ll make the grade.
I have my son in law to thank for getting me involved in all of this. I really didn’t think what I had to say would interest anyone but my own family so I have been pleasantly surprised at the new friend’s I’ve made who actually think I have something worth reading! And what’s more … it brought me to the point where I actually committed to and finished writing a novel, which my family members and close friends have urged me to do for years.
So this year there is one more thing to be thankful for … bloggers.

Has your SIL introduced you to RSS? If not, ask him because you can cover a lot more blogs.
Isn’t this fun?
I love my bloggin’ buds!
I’m really tickled that I give you aha moments. Thanks, that made my week!
Ditto to GoingLikeSixty! And I can tell I’d even like you if you lived next door. I just can’t tell you how much you’ve impressed me with that speedy novel. You are a winner!
Yes, we are all very fond of you too and we also are amazed that people are actually interested in our writings (or seem to be). Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I need to put in a vote against RSS. I read all blogs in a browser because part of the experience for me is the layout, color, look-and-feel of the blog – it informs me about the blogger and gives me a greater sense of who the person is.
And thank you for the mention…
