24 bottles of Pero on the shelf, 24 bottles of Pero.     Take one down and pass it around, 23 bottles of Pero on the shelf.    

Pero is a natural beverage, caffeine free and blended from select all natural ingredients–malted barley, chicory, and rye.    It warms me up quick when I get the bone chills.   

Lynn and I have grown accustomed to having nice hot cups of Pero on cold winter days, early mornings, or late nights.     We like the flavor, and it doesn’t add calories and carbohydrates like hot chocolate would.   So, when we suddenly couldn’t find it on any grocery store shelf and Amazon was out of it until they don’t know when … we were not happy campers.    We hope it isn’t going to bite the dust as Postum has recently done (which we don’t like but a lot of people do and they can’t get it anymore).

Pero is produced in Switzerland so who knows how readily it will be available … but Lynn found one place online where we could order it.   It was cheaper if you bought at least 19 bottles so, of course,  that was a given, and since a case has 6 bottles he ordered 4 cases.    24 little bottles of Pero.    We may have to step up our drinking.

One of the bonus’s about liking Pero is that no one else we know likes it.    If there ever is a world wide shortage of it we won’t have to worry about our stash.    No one would want it but us.      When we die our children will probably dispose of any we might have left in a way unbefitting of something that has brought us so much warmth and quiet moments together.   If they chanced to open and sniff they would be sure to throw it away.     But until then … “Take one down and pass it around” we have a lot of bottles of Pero on our shelves!”
