Spell Check! Hooray!
I have been running spell check on my novel … Holy cow what would I do without spell check?
I think the reason I’ve put off writing it for so long is simply for spell check and erase and cut. When I think of all the papers I wrote in school using the old typewriter and carbon paper! Yowsa! Kids these days don’t have a clue, due they? The hours of research that went into papers had to be done in the library … in BOOKS. You had to take miles of notes and then you had to type a rough draft, then a regular draft. When I made a mistake in typing if it was above the halfway mark on the page I would start over. If it was below I would try to fix it along with the carbon copy. What a mess!
Writing now days is so much easier that I’m afraid it’s all going to change again into something I can’t do … like through some kind of alter person you have to create on the internet. Or worse still, you would have to create all the characters online somehow.
Here’s a later excerpt from it that shows more of what a bumbling angel Aunt Nettie can be. I am taking Alice’s advice and not thinking about it for a while now. I have so many other things to do before Christmas!
