Open Your Heart Surgery

womenss conference 004

Yesterday morning I was one of the presenters at our stake Relief Society Conference.     I talked about strengthening our relationship with Jesus Christ … three different sessions.     I am surprised I had people come to my class with all of the experts they had their speaking.   When they presented us all at the beginning of the conference it was a little intimidating that most of them had Master’s Degrees.   The ones who didn’t had Doctorate’s.   Me, I’m just an ordinary person.

Between each session we were treated to a nice Brunch with fruit, veggies, sandwiches and/or muffins.

It was a nice morning and the stake relief society leaders put a lot of work went into organizing and preparing it.     I wish I could have gone to some of the other classes.   There were classes on budgeting, investing, stretching food dollars, organizing, reading with children, and three different doctors talking about different health issues.   People could choose three classes to attend.

In my class I talked about several factors that improve our relationship with Jesus Christ but my main focus was that if we do everything else (pray, exercise faith, feel gratitude, pay tithes, study scriptures etc) and don’t have charity in our hearts we are closing our hearts to what we could have and missing out on the joy of service, forgiving others, and accepting people for who they are.

It was only my second day up after two weeks of the flu and by the time I got home I was pretty tired … I slept all afternoon, evening, and night and managed to drag out of bed at 10:00 in order to be to church by 11:00 and then came home and slept some more … and very soon I am going to bed again.  I’m sure I’ll feel much better tomorrow.   I am very grateful I had a good window yesterday morning and was able to do it.

Oh, and I was sooo blessed not to cough!
