On My Way To Washington

What a relief!     Little baby grandson has arrived!    His mother has been in hard labor since way early this morning … I think it amounted to 14 hours.     Throughout the day they were almost to C-Section but she really wanted him natural and finally he is here safe and sound.    He was big … nine-ish … hasn’t been officially weighed yet.   So … the pooch, the baby girl who is two months old, and the new baby all weigh about the same.  HA!

I used to think it would be such a relief when I didn’t have to worry about my children anymore … back when they were all five teenagers and there seemed like a lot of things to worry about.    Little did I know that as the family grows in numbers there are just more people to love and pray for.   From the oldest down to the youngest they all matter and tug at your heart when you know they are hurting or when you know they could be in harms way.

Thank goodness all is well now.    I fly out early in the morning to go up to Auburn, Washington and try my darndest to spoil that new little baby and his three siblings and maybe even my other three grandchildren who are in Marysville, Washington.     What a fun time to go visiting.    I get to stay up there three weeks!    Woo Hoo … hope I don’t freeze to death!   Our desert temperatures are shirt sleeve degrees here.

I had the dog into the vet again today.  I’m wishing the first thing I’d done when I got her was get pet insurance.    She has run up quite a tab in the two months or so we’ve had her … She has allergies and scratches and scratches and scratches.     She is on an antibiotic and has special shampoo for sensitive skin that we have to use every other day for two weeks (daughter is tending her for me … what timing!).     But she’s such a sweetheart little girl   Don’t we wish she was house trained, though!   Holy Smackaroni.

I’ll see you all from the great northwest tomorrow!
