Old And Proud Of It
Isn’t it strange that all the people I knew when I was a little girl are old? And it’s okay? Actually it’s a title I wear proudly. I know, at least I hope, I will get a lot older, but it’s just a fact that when you hit 60 you are no longer young or middle aged. You’d have to live to be 120 if you were middle aged at 60. There is nothing wrong with the word old; It’s just a word.
So it really irks me that Ronni Bennett’s blog is ending because of rude people who have stupid issues over the word “old”. Time Goes By has been one of my favorite places to go for information and links and I will miss it a lot. Ronni, I’m sorry it became un-fun for you and that I didn’t submit some articles. I guess I didn’t think I had anything interesting to say. Please let me know if you start up anything else … I for one know I have reached “old” and I’m proud of it!
People over 60 who don’t like the word “old” … I’m sure there are enough of you to have your own circle of boomer friends … you don’t have to play in our yards if you don’t want to!
