Messenger = Family ties
There are a lot of reasons to be in love with technology, but probably none as good as the fact that it connects me with my scattered family. When my daughter got married and moved from Southern Utah to Seattle I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have survived if it wasn’t for Messenger.
It makes the miles not seem quite so far and almost brings the family back under my roof … or at least into my office.
The latest member of our family to use Messenger
is my grand daughter, Luca, who recently turned 6. She will be starting first grade in a few weeks but she is already chatting with me and doing a great job of spelling phonetically. For instance … she wanted to play Animal Crossing together on our Nintendos from her house to mine, but we didn’t know how … so she typed, ” my mom sed sey wod look on the campoyotr
” … which translated is “My mom said she would look on the computer.” Smart, huh?
It isn’t easy for an old dog like me to learn new tricks so I am very grateful that the men in my life are patient computer geeks. They keep the rest of us all connected and working on spiffy equipment and we just go merrily on our way having fun.
