Meme * Joys & Fears
My cute niece, Trisha, had this Meme on her site. I thought it sparked some inner thought so I decided to do it on my site.
Share three of the following: Joys, Fears, Goals, Random Surprising Facts, Current obsessions/collections
My joys: Joy isn’t the same thing as having fun. My description of joy would be a deep, satisfying happiness that brings comfort. So the things that bring me the most joy are my faith, my family, and my friends. They are those things that have nothing to do with money or worldly possessions.
My Fears: My faith helps me face my fears so I don’t spend a lot of time worrying … but my fears would be:
My grandchildren don’t have the freedoms growing up that I did … the freedom of not being afraid of strangers, the freedom of walking around town, the freedom of not being exposed to pornography, the freedom of safety at school.
The next thing I fear is the waning economy and the surge in costs that affect my children and grandchildren’s well being.
The next fear is widespread disease.
My Goals:
I want to simplify my life. I want to downsize what we have and give the excess to those who need it.
I want to be a snow bird and live part of the time in the Seattle area near our children and grandchildren up there, and the other part here in Ivins by the other half.
I want to publish my book.
Random surprising facts:
I play and teach piano.
I will have 17 grandchildren by the end of August … thirteen girls and four boys.
The two friends I hang out with the most have hair all over their body and weigh about 11 pounds. Their names are Lady and FiFi.
Current Obsessions/Collections:
I have bins and bins of material to make quilts, wall hangings, and aprons … bins and BINS. And I have a new sewing machine I don’t even know how to thread.
I have way too many Christmas decorations and it is one of the things I am downsizing this year. If it doesn’t fit in the closet in the TV room we can’t keep it.
I have bins of good deal gifts for Christmas and birthdays. I lose track of the bins so then I fill up another bin. I am trying to organize them all into one spot and give away at least half of it to people who need it now.
And … let’s don’t even talk about books.
