Love Letters
I receive the cutest love letters from my grandchildren. Nothing perks an old granny up quicker than knowing one of her little darlings is thinking of her. Luca is six, and lives near Seattle and she and I chat on Messenger and in addition to that I can expect a letter in the mail at least every other week. This is the one I received this week.
To GRANDMA AND
GRANDPA, I LOVE
YOU AND MEES YOU
AND I MEES OSSY
TO AND I NOW YOU
MEES HIM TO I
LOVE YOU VERE
MUCH FROM LUCA.
I just love little hands and minds and the excitement that comes when they learn to read and write. I look at these grandchildren and how much they can do by 1st grade and then think back to how we memorized words. I didn’t read detailed stories in 1st grade and words weren’t near as exciting to me as they are to my grandchildren! I love the way they are being taught and encouraged. The smart little whipper snappers just amaze me all the time.
Tonight I drove into the driveway about 6:00 and the yard was swarming with laughing, giggling children with happy faces. They were in the trees, climbing on the rocks, chasing each other around … 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 of them … I counted them twice! Only two of them were my grandchildren! The rest were their friends who had converged like a swarm of bees on an open container of sugary pop. They appeared to be playing a team tag game. It took me back thirty years to when I was determined to have my home be the one children flocked to so I would always know where my kids were and who their friends were. It worked, too. Deja Vu.
Some day I will be a really old woman and these children will be the ones running the businesses and making the laws and I want them to do it with love and charity and compassion. So ,,, I think it’s important to teach them the rules of our yard and trees and sidewalks and let them play here when they are respectful and obedient … now and then, not every day. (I’m not crazy!)

I’m wondering IF I am doing this right? You speak in one of your blogs about not understanding technical machine etc. Well my dear I am older than you and I don’t honeslty know if I am writing to you or not. Oh well life goes on until it doesn’t.
Oh my Sis, you make me chuckle. Yes you did it exactly right. I am glad you have found out how to let your fingers do the talking on here! You need a blog site of your own but feel free to write anything you want here … an epistle even! I would love it!
