Let’s say we’re Fine In 2009
It sounded good when Julie said it in Relief Society yesterday … “I’ll be fine in 2009″. I like that kind of positive attitude! It’s easy to get held back by the past, both the good and bad things, and not move forward. It’s just as easy to be held back by dread of the future or to spend our days wishing for what hasn’t yet happened. Of course, we need to remember the past because we learn from our experiences, but we live in the present.
We have a neighbor with extreme health problems. He goes in for dialysis three times a week. He is in a great deal of pain. He walks with assistance and recently fell and broke his shoulder. He’s been at death’s door many times. Ask him how he is and he’ll answer with one word … “good”.
This year lets try to give people the benefit of the doubt, assume people aren’t out to get us, that mistakes happen. Assume people are doing the best they can and let’s try each day to make someone’s life a little brighter. Finally, no matter what comes our way in 2009, let’s count our blessings and say we’re fine.

I think that is great advice. I will admit that 2008 was somewhat of a tough year and I want to make 2009 a positive and memorable year no matter where life takes me.
Very good advice. It usually works best when we do just that!
