Important Fix-It Tools

Well, here I am, clicking away on a wimpy little black keyboard Lynn had down in the basement.   You’d think I’d listen to myself preach to the grandkids about not having a drink next to the computer, wouldn’t you?   I miss my nice split keyboard that had the perfect touch.    I wish I hadn’t shared my coke with it.

It’s interesting what you run across when you are pulling stuff out from the closets and corners.    I had several “aha” moments when I found things we’d been looking for a long time.    I found Lynn’s “Gorilla Glue” he’s been looking for but now we can’t remember what he was going to fix with it.   I notice it is sort of like Super Glue, which causes me a bit of trepidation knowing Lynn’s history with that little miracle fix-all.    He’s been known to glue his fingers together, his finger to his glasses and his nose, and his fingers to lamps and vases.

The other thing he’s really good with is silver tape, otherwise known as duct tape … or as we call it, Duck Tape.   If you go to that site you’ll find it can fix things you haven’t even thought of yet.   Lynn can fix anything with it but the ducts it was created for.    I’m just happy that he can fix most of the things I can break.    The keyboard is still up in the air.   It’s not looking good.    It seems to have lost it’s smarts.

  1. Old joke: all you need in life is WD40 and duct tape. If it’s supposed to move and doesn’t use WD40. If it moves and isn’t supposed to, use duct tape.

  2. Hummmmm, Alice said, as she sat reading Edna’s blog while drinking a diet coke, which she placed on the desk ABOVE the keyboard. So then, she moved it back, back, back, wayyyyyyy away on the desk – almost to the wall – and now she can’t reach it. But at least the keyboard’s safe! Thanks for this timely posting! (My keyboard thanks you, too!)

  3. Oh my. Dad has provided us more entertainment when working with super glue and I can even measure. My favorite (but definitely not his!) is when he glued the super glue tube to his finger…so he tried to cut it off with razor and cut his finger (not a bad cut..I am not that mean!)…and then the best part was when he remembered that he had heard that fingernail polish remover dissolves the glue. Poor dad. As he screamed when the polish remover hit the cut we were laughing so hard we couldn’t stand or breathe.
