I Love My Practical Man
My guy may not be the most romantic guy on the planet, or the tidiest … and he sometimes procrastinates … but he is such a keeper!
For instance … when I showed an interest in drawing a few months ago he searched out art supplies and every few days would bring me a new item for what has become my “kit”.
When I was doing all the sorting last week and wanted a certain kind of plastic storage box that you get at Costco … that is a little more costly (and stronger) than the ones you get at K-Mart … he made several trips to Costco to purchase them for me and never complained once. And on the last trip he found the most delicious, soft, luxury, black licorice pieces you can possibly imagine and brought them home to surprise me. (Black licorice is the best.)
Whenever there is a sale on Diet Coke … he stocks up on them for me. I never even think about it, I just go to the small refrigerator we keep water and drinks in and there is one ready for me.
Okay, so this is a little bit funny … but endearing if you know me or my honey very well. I’m a granola fan. I love to start my day with a bowl of granola and cold milk. Sometimes, though, if I don’t have time for breakfast and am on the run I end up not eating until late in the afternoon when suddenly I feel weak and sick … so last week he brings me a giant multi-pack of granola bars to see if I like them. Of course I liked them … it’s obvious I like most foods. So … the next day he brought home some more … and the next day some more … and the next day some more. We are a food storage family and my man is making sure I have something I enjoy in our storage plan. Maybe not romantic but silly me, I tear up just thinking how thoughtful that was. Give me his kind of sweetness any day!
I wonder what my next surprise package will be?
