Holding A Grudge
I heard a good phrase today: “Holding a grudge is like swallowing poison and then waiting for the other person to die.” Isn’t that just the truth? It is dangerous stuff carrying that venom inside of ourselves. It spills and splashes and eats away at our character and happiness every time we see or hear about the person who offended us, leaving scars and open wounds that fester and grow. The only way to heal those wounds is to get rid of the poison. It is much more dangerous to the person who carries it than the person we are angry with.
