Grandma’s Gadgets

My five favorite electronic gadgets:

1.  Nintendo DS – I have avoided electronic games like the plague for years and now I own a DS and am hooked on Animal Crossing (go figure).  The grand kids and I have a lot of fun playing this game when we get together.   We can visit each other’s villages and interact in a lot of nifty ways.     I like to carry this in my purse in case I get stuck waiting in the car while Lynn runs errands or have a long wait in a doctor’s office.

2.  Motorola RAZR Cell Phone-  How could I live without my cell phone?    This is my favorite one ever!  I have a hard time hearing on some cell phones but don’t have a problem with this one.     I especially like the speaker feature and use it a lot when I’m sitting at my desk.

3.  Canon Digital Elph – Holy cow I can’t say enough about this wonderful camera.,   There is a lot of technical jargon about it but I like that it fits in a pocket in my purse and is always with me when I want to snap pictures of the grand kids.     It can be used manually … but the good thing is it also has easy settings that make it easy for people like me.    I have had 3 different Elph’s now … upgrading each time they improve it … and I have nothing but praise for them.

4.  Ipod 30 - I have it full of music!  It holds up to 7,500 songs!   You can make personal folders for your different moods.   I like to clean house to Dixieland and reminisce with the oldies and sit at the computer with the Big Bands.     It also holds pictures and movies so you can show off the family.

5.  Sony VGN-FZ190 Series Laptop   I wanted a light weight computer with a decent sized screen but not too big.   It also needed to have a comfortable keyboard.   I feel like I got a lot of computer for the money with this one.    I like the display.  It’s bright and clean.

We bought all these toys at Costco during special sales.    We love their no questions asked return policy for 90 days and the support they give through warranties.

Okay … so I probably wouldn’t have any of these gadgets (except the cell phone) if it wasn’t for my highly intelligent, personal computer geek, Lynn,  who keeps me in the know and fixes them when I mess up.
