Gordon Bitner Hinckley

hinckleyspeaking_Apr2004 What a great man was Gordon B. Hinckley, a man I believe was a prophet of God.  Thirteen million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints mourn his passing January 27, 2007, but he has also earned the love and respect of people the world over who are not of the same faith.   He was a man of integrity and goodness … a man without guile … a man who understood and loved the people of the world.   He had a quick wit and a clever sense of humor and when he spoke he captured the hearts of those he spoke to.    One of the things I have loved most about him is the way he has taught church members to get to know, love, and understand people in all walks of life.    He was a world wide ambassador of love and peace … in word and in deed.     I am grateful for his good influence in my life.

  1. I loved reading some of quotes from his talks of the past in the paper today. He really was a smart man, and I respect that very much. His wife was special too, wasn’t she?

  2. One of my first thoughts upon hearing of his passing was: ‘Oh what a beautiful reunion he and his dear Marjorie would have had.’ He has been so lonely since she passed away a few years ago. What a special couple they are! We all should try as hard to make our own marriages as happy as theirs was ….. then the world would be a better place!
