Exchanging Heelies
Chloe and Steele got “Heelies” from Santa for Christmas. In case you don’t know, they are shoes with wheels that can be put under the heals. Santa was given instructions to buy a boys size 3 and a girls size 2. On Christmas morning Steele couldn’t begin to get his foot into the size 3 and Chloe’s foot wouldn’t go into the size 2 so Chloe decided to keep Steele’s bigger pair and Grandpa graciously offered to see if he could exchange Chloe’s for a bigger size for Steele.
Early Wednesday morning Grandpa was one of the first in line to make the exchange at Big 5. A couple of hours later he received a call from Steele’s mother. “Don’t change the shoes! The kids hadn’t taken the cardboard out of the shoes when they tried them on. The size 3′s fit Steele just right.” So, Grandpa got in the return line once again and exchanged the size 4′s back for the size 2′s he’d taken in … good ole Grandpa.
