Blogger Hopping

Since I officially became a “blogger” I have found some fun places to hang out … almost like hopping in the buggy and going for a quick visit.

One of my favorite new friends is Alice of Wintersong.    She made me laugh in Living in a Religious Theme Park … aka Salt Lake City, and I just keep going back for more.     I agree with her … we Utahans are a peculiar people.

I was drawn to Rockbridge Times because of one sentence she wrote in her profile:   “Just turned 65 and am making this a time to begin working on things I’ve set aside for decades.”   Boy can I relate to that.

Islandwriter captured me simply because she is a baby boomer like me … and a published author (unlike me) … and I like the things she has to say.   I like her statement “I may disagree with what you say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it.”    My friends and I have a similar understanding;  we “agree to disagree.”

I like to go to Suite101.com because they have good information and blogs for and by seniors … which is my category.    They feature different authors and blog sites and have a good index of other places to visit.  “Here are some good blogs from seniors and about seniors.”

I got a big kick out of John Perry’s Structured Procrastination and check in there regularly to read.      He even has cool Apparel I may order some day … if I get around to it.

My daughter has a cool blog that I’m not the least bit prejudiced about.  She is the mother of 3 and is working on her 4th and has a good perspective of life from a different vantage point … one I have long since passed through.   Times have changed, but motherhood hasn’t.   I like her advice from  her six year old, Luca.

Her husband, Brett, is the blogmaster guru … He helped me get this site up and has encouraged and heckled me to keep it going.   A lot of his blog is technical stuff … he’s one of those “geeks” I love so well.   He gives good advice … like on Google vs. Microsoft  Live Search.

Son, Warren, has a cool site full of photos and philosophy … and various contributors.     He has completed a book he is seeking to publish.   He has the first chapter on his site … see for yourself what you think … that kid has promise!

One more son, Ryan, is in to music … he writes and records.   He is very talented and has done a remarkable job of putting together his own little studio in his spare time.  He is almost finished with his first CD … you can hear his music from his site.

  1. Hi Edna,
I saw your comment and I’ve been meaning to email you to thank you for visiting Island Writer.
Then I just went to Technorati to update some things and I found your blog.
I plan to return here when I have more time, but I think I’ll enjoy visiting here and I’m glad you enjoyed popping by my blog.
    Best to you……….Terri

  2. Thanks for sharing your blogroll! It was fun to check them out and see what you read. I will have to make up a list of some of my favorites to list on my blog as well.

  3. Hi Edna!
Thanks for the boost and the link. I’m so happy you saw through my tongue-in-cheek style of humor. Not everyone did, as you might have noted in some of the comments. But it is not my attention to insult anyone for any reason even if we disagree. I concur with Terri (above) we all have a right to our opinions. And beneath all the outside things that make us a little different, we’re all brothers and sisters. I’m glad you like to visit. Congratulations on the newest grandchild! When I have more time I’ll check out all your family blogs, too!
