A Few Reasons to Love Long Beach!
I absolutely love it here in Long Beach, Washington! I LOVE it! This has definitely got to be a tradition for Lynn and I … to spend at least a month here every year.
I’ve had fun the last few days taking pictures of the multi colored little summer cottages around here. Talk about a plethora of designs and colors! It is fun here!
So this one doesn’t look too bright for most neighborhoods. Kind of a nice mixture of yellow and green. But we are just getting started here so stay with me here!
You might be in inclined to think this is blue but it is actually purple. There are several homes in different shades of purple scattered around.
Yes indeed! We’re talking major pink here! A very bright pink … Another house I saw was a white house with a cute porch and a bright pink fence.
Another shade of purple with blue trim and a darker purple door. Sure it needs a little work but this house has character, don’t you think?
The downtown shops are all painted bright. There are so many neat ones to wander through. We’ve been to the kite store about four times now and bought two new kites!
This one caught my eye … It actually has a little bit of a turquoise tint to it … reminds me of a pretty Easter egg.
I really liked this little house and told Lynn it was a pretty mustard color. He told me it was more of a Diarrhea brown … he is not a good judge of colors!
I really like this choice of colors and trim. We were driving by and I missed most of the house!
The farthest house back is a dark shade of blue/green … What I love is the trim they use to compliment the colors.
Okay, this wasn’t my favorite. In fact, this may be the one Lynn called the “D” word.
More fun shops!
Now I can picture me in this house, sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch, watching the people go past on the street.
And would you ever guess that Dandelions could be so beautiful! These are on a hill in front of some homes … I couldn’t believe they were dandelions!
And one more picture …. We discovered another special little shop in Long Beach …. We have to be careful that we don’t go to “Scoops” very often!
They had so many different kinds of ice cream we had to quit looking and just choose! Do I even dare admit we’ve been there about three times? Yipes!
Tonight we were at Disappointment State Park late and suddenly we heard a lot of screaming … come to find out it was baby seals out on the beach. There are signs up that baby seals are NOT to be touched. The mother seals don’t stand for it! Warren’s and Kimberly’s families are camping at Disappointment State Park (about 20 minutes from our RV park) this weekend so there will be lots of pictures taken!

Hi Aunt Edna!
I’m glad you two are having such a good time on your vacation! That last home was definitely my favorite.
Be safe while you enjoy yourselves!
Love,
Mary
This makes me homesick for Astoria! I loved it there. I never would have ever moved if my Mom didn’t get sick and was dying and we wanted to return to Utah. I’m glad you’re loving it there. Thanks for posting these cool pictures. The mustard color is the color of a lot of houses in the scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Have a fun and wonderful weekend with the kids. Sounds like so much fun. We love you guys and miss you. Keep us posted!
