A Few Photos at Zion’s

IMG_1853

This is “The Great White Throne” … my favorite named mountain in Zion’s National Park. I think it’s my favorite because we had a big framed photo of it on our wall when I was growing up. Looking at it seems comforting and familiar.

IMG_1871 This is taken from the trail on the “Angel’s Landing” hike, which is said to be one of the best rated hikes in the U.S. You can see why last week’s camp was so restful and peaceful. It is magnificent.

IMG_1899 And this is our camp site the day Warren and his family visited us there. Our little Eco camper did a wonderful job of taking care of us! My daughter in law, Sandy is on the left, me holding Lady, and son Warren holding 16 year old Aubree.

Chloe was so grateful when we got home and Lady was okay. She burst into tears as we left because she was so worried something would happen like it did the last time we took a Bichon camping. Lady Bichon (given to us miraculously) loved camping but she didn’t like me to leave her side and stood with her little paws looking out the big window above our bed whenever I walked in that direction to visit the restrooms. I don’t know what it is with Bichon’s with their frantic paranoia about losing their Mama Person. I must be the alpha of the pack … (in lieu of calling myself the “b” word”. Lady worries a little when Lynn isn’t in site but she goes into a little doggy fit when I’m out of site. We both had to laugh the last night there when we woke up and Lady was laying on her back right between us, under the covers with her head on the pillows … smiling her full fledged toothy smile she gives when she’s the happiest.

So now the vacation is over and it’s back to what … normal? What in the heck is normal?

  1. Hi Aunt Edna!
I love to read your blog! I laughed so hard when you told your dream of the camper rolling away! I hope you don’t mind I added your blog to my list of blogs that I visit!
    Bye!

  2. So you took the bichon with you? I thought you were leaving her home; I could certainly understand why you would have wanted to. Guess it’s like that falling off a horse deal; now that you’ve all survived you can get on with your active lives and Lady can go with you everywhere. Your description of her in bed with the two of you reminds me so much of my Charlie.
