284 Cecil W. Henke Family Members … and growing
This is Lynn’s with his mother, Florence Cook Henke, at the family reunion we attended in Hinckley, Utah, this past Saturday. She is remarkable. At age 87 she knows the name of each member of her family and with the birth of our little Olivia this month she has 284 of us to remember. She and Lynn’s dad, Cecil, were the parents of ten children.
The “cousins” as I still refer to all of my nieces and nephews are multiplying and replenishing right and left and there were darling babies and rambunctious children everywhere I am going to put just a few pictures here for those in the family who couldn’t make it this year.
One thing I love at the reunions is how the little children play with their cousins … no matter how long it has been since they last played together.
Sitting around swapping news is what we do best … who lives where, who works where, who’s expecting. I’m happy that so many of them have family blogs I can read regularly. Unlike Florence, I can’t remember all the names of all their children but it was sure fun to see them. I wish I could have rounded them all up for a group picture but that would have been like trying to round up a field full of kittens who didn’t want to be caught.
They may not be Olympians but I love seeing the big cousins include the little cousins.
Siblings who don’t get to see each other often enjoyed their time together.
I loved watching this baby girl toddling around … especially after she took a dip in the kiddie pool where her diaper soaked up at least a gallon of water.

Florence looks as young as ever – I haven’t seen her for years. Such a nice lady! I imagine it was fun to get together – reunions are good! Best of everything to all of you.
I wished I could have gone, there were so many that I haven’t seen for a long time and I’d have loved to chat! Hopefully next time!

Thanks for posting some pictures. With Dad having surgery again I think mom forgot to tell any of us about the reunion! Wish we could have been there!
I’m glad you posted the pictures too. It’s nice to see a piece of the things that we miss. Thanks!
I was sooo sad we weren’t able to go this year : (
Thanks for posting these pics of the family reunion.
Looks like everyone had fun!
